About Us

It started with a pink gorilla. Obviously.

Back in 2015, there was a thing called Upcycled Hour on Twitter. A weekly moment where furniture upcyclers shared their work and supported each other.

Both of us were invited to exhibit at the first Upcycled Hour Live event in Brighton.

We were placed next to each other at the entrance.

Zoe had a life-size pink gorilla lamp, flamingos and a bar.
Steph had a carefully restored Country Style Heritage pieces.

Very different aesthetics.
Very different energy.

Two days side by side.
A few cocktails that evening.
A lot of laughing.

That was it.

Friendship sealed.

Since then, we’ve spent nearly a decade in and around each other’s businesses.

Sharing ideas.
Comparing notes.
Working things out.
Getting things right.
Getting things wrong.

And through all of that, one thing kept showing up.

So many capable, hardworking business owners are trying to figure everything out on their own.

Why Pink Gorilla Collective exists

Running a small business can be exciting.

It can also be noisy, overwhelming and, at times, quietly lonely.

You are told to be everywhere.
Post constantly.
Scale quickly.
Automate everything.

If you are not doing all of it, it can feel like you are already behind.

You are not.

Most business owners do not need more noise.

They need clarity.
Structure.
A clear sense of what actually matters.

That is what Pink Gorilla Collective is built for.

Not a networking group.
Not a motivation club.
Not a course library that gathers dust.

A structured business membership where strategy meets accountability.

A place where marketing, SEO, websites and business foundations start to make sense.

A place where confidence grows because you understand what you are doing and why.

So why us?

We have both built real businesses.

We have made decisions that worked.
Decisions that did not.
And huge decisions that changed our lives.

That experience shapes everything we do inside Pink Gorilla Collective.

Zoe Pocock

Zoe built Muck N Brass into a bold, sustainable interiors brand. Long before upcycling became mainstream.

She understands what it takes to stand out. To build a community. To create a brand people remember.

You may have seen her on BBC’s Make It at Market, CBeebies’ Junk Rescue, and beyond.

She knows how to hold attention. On screen and off.

She went on to found Pink Gorilla Media, helping businesses develop their voice, show up with confidence and build a digital presence with real personality.

Zoe brings:

Visibility
Creative instinct
Energy
The confidence to show up properly without feeling performative

Steph Briggs

Steph's path wasn't linear and that's exactly why she gets it. She left a corporate career to start a family, and bought a shop. She spent a decade running her own award-winning interiors and gifts store. She built it from scratch, ran workshops, scaled it and eventually relocated the whole thing to Scotland.

What she learned in those ten years about stock, margin, footfall, customer psychology, and what it actually takes to keep a business alive is the kind of knowledge no course teaches you.

Now she's Head of Content and Ecommerce at The Retail Champion, alongside working as a marketing consultant supporting small businesses

Her work focuses on what drives growth:

SEO that brings in the right traffic
Websites that convert
Marketing that supports sales
Commercial decisions that improve profitability

Steph brings:

Structure
Clarity
Commercial thinking
A way to turn scattered ideas into a plan you can actually follow

Chalk & Cheese. Different Strengths. Shared Standards.

Zoe will push you to be braver.

Steph will make sure it makes commercial sense.

There will be laughter. Always.

Underneath that, there is depth. Experience, strategy and an understanding that your business is not just about money. It is about building something that works for your life.

We do not take ourselves too seriously.

We take your business seriously.

We don't take ourselves too seriously. We take your business very seriously.

This might be for you if…

You feel like you should know more than you do.

You are working hard but not always sure if you are focusing on the right things.

You are posting content without knowing if it is doing anything.
